National Ice Cream Day is on Sunday, July 21, and it’s the perfect day to treat yourself to something sweet. While every day seems to be a ‘National’ something day, National Ice Cream Day definitely deserves to be celebrated.
The third Sunday of July is always National Ice Cream Day, and this year it falls on July 21. Many places, especially national chains, are giving out free ice cream to celebrate. You might need to download their app to get the freebie, but you can always delete it later if you want.
According to Holiday Calendar, Illinois’ favorite ice cream flavor is vanilla. This might seem a bit boring, especially since other studies have shown Blue Moon as the top flavor in Illinois. Vanilla is the most common flavor, and while everyone likes it, it’s hard to believe it’s the favorite.
Personally, I’d prefer chocolate, rocky road, cookie dough, cookies and cream, or butter pecan over vanilla. My all-time favorite is Ben & Jerry’s Chocolate Therapy.
What about you? Is vanilla really your favorite ice cream flavor, or do you prefer something more exciting?
