Case of accused attacker shot by guard at Pioneer Courthouse will stay in Portland, judge rules

On Tuesday, a federal judge in Portland denied the transfer of a criminal case against a man who is accused of randomly attacking a security guard at the Pioneer Courthouse in 2023 from Oregon.

Because he is accused of striking a federal officer and targeting a federal courtroom, Jett A. Thomas argued that judges in Oregon would be biased against him and sought a judge outside of the U.S. District Court to hear his case.
