Fears of a second Donald Trump presidency are intensifying in the wake of the 2024 presidential election. Trump’s first term, which was characterized by an increase in hate crimes and divisive language, is still vivid in the minds of many Black Americans. There are now serious worries about a return to violence and intolerance as Trump prepares to recapture the presidency.
These worries are not without merit, according to the 2024 American Electorate Voter Poll, which was taken from October 18 to November 4. More than 9,000 Americans of all racial and ethnic backgrounds participated in the survey, which reveals that Black voters have serious concerns about Trump’s comeback.
Professor Ray Block, an advisor with the African American Research Collaborative (AARC), stated that although Black voters are typically optimistic, they have significant worries about a Trump second term, especially in regards to hate, division, and violence.
