On Tuesday night, January 7, a Beaverton man received three tickets for failing to use seatbelts or a safety system to restrain minor passengers while driving at 104 miles per hour on Interstate 84 near Baker City.
At around 11:40 p.m., 29-year-old Alberto Enrique Alvarez Bolano was pulled over on the westbound freeway close to Milepost 296 near the Baker Valley Rest Area. Trooper Tristan Sand of the Oregon State Police said in the citation that the 2013 Volkswagen Passat was captured at 104 mph by a laser detector. Over 100 mph carries a $1,150 fine. Each of the three tickets for improperly securing a kid passenger carries a $115 punishment.
