The National Weather Service issued a beach hazards statement for the Oregon Central Coast, Clatsop County Coast, and Tillamook County Coast at 1:15 a.m. on Sunday. The statement was in effect from 6 p.m. until 10 a.m. on Monday.

“On a beach, particularly over rocks and jetties, waves might go up much farther than usual. Avoid the logs, rocks, and jetties close to the surf area. Do not swim in after someone who has been swept into the sea. Make a 911 call and wait for assistance to arrive.
