Around the Big Ten: College Football Playoff, transfer portal opens, bowl games, 2 coaches face ‘enormous’ pressure

There was a big olreally, celebration at SMU, and wrath at Alabama.GIF at Oregon and a never-ending argument among college football fans.

Some are indignant, while others shrug their shoulders at the announcement of the field for the inaugural 12-team College Football Playoff.

The CFP Selection Committee’s contentious bracket produced drool-worthy first-round matches, winners and losers (see below), and a mountain of curiosity among college football fans who are excited to watch how the new playoff format plays out.

For the No. 1 Oregon Ducks, whose reward for a strong, unbeaten season is a playoff bracket that includes Ohio State, Texas, and Georgia, the road to a title could not be more challenging. However, winning a national championship isn’t meant to be simple, as Ducks coach Dan Lannings stated on Sunday during an interview on ESPN’s CFP selection program.

Lanning went on to say that if our route becomes a little more difficult, we should be proud if we persevere and take care of business.

According to CBS Sports, Indiana coach Curt Cignetti is thrilled to play Notre Dame in the CFP. Regarding the Notre Dame-Indiana game, The Athletic claims that the CFP offers the two universities an opportunity to finally get to know one another.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that the CFP Committee has given Ohio State a present.
