The Clackamas County Sheriff’s office reports that an armed individual locked themselves in a building at the National Guard recruitment base at Camp Withycombe in Happy Valley.
The person seemed to be experiencing a mental health crisis, according to Brian McCall, a sheriff’s office spokesperson who talked to The Oregonian/OregonLive. A SWAT squad and crisis negotiators arrived at the scene.
Authorities reported that no one had been hurt and that the incident had been settled by around 3 p.m.
