Around 11 a.m. on Tuesday, the Clackamas County Sheriff’s office reported that an armed individual had barricaded himself in a building at the National Guard recruitment base at Happy Valley’s Camp Withycombe.
A SWAT squad and crisis negotiators arrived at the scene of what seemed to be a mental health crisis involving a 25-year-old man who was an active member of the Oregon National Guard. According to a news release from the sheriff’s office, the man turned himself in at 1:30 p.m. and was transported to a hospital.
There were no injuries.
