Amid push for more money for summer school, report shows inconsistent evidence of its 2024 impact on student learning

Legislators in Oregon are considering allocating $78.5 million for summer school programming in 2025 and 2026 after years of erratic financing, which saw $150 million allocated in 2022 and nothing the following year.

That would increase the $30 million lawmakers allocated for summer programming in 2024, demonstrating their belief in the potential of summer learning to help pupils regain academic ground they have lost.
