As the Oregon Ducks get ready for Saturday’s Big Ten championship game, they are working hard on Wednesday to sign elite football recruits.
On this early national signing day, high school athletes have the opportunity to sign a contract committing them to their future colleges. The Ducks and Dan Lanning have spent months obtaining verbal pledges from the 2025 class, and Wednesday will bring a great deal of commotion along with some closure.

Smith, Akili Jr.
QB | San Diego, California | 6-5, 200
Akili Smith’s son, a former quarterback for Oregon, is traveling to Eugene. During his three-year varsity career, Smith Jr., a pocket quarterback with praised deep ball accuracy, completed 65.2% of his throws for 6,902 yards, 72 touchdowns, and 20 interceptions. His senior season saw him increase his output on the ground as well, rushing for 379 yards and two scores.
Moore Dakorien
WR | Duncanville, Texas | 5-11, 182
Moore, one of Oregon’s highest-rated prospects ever, is a very productive, quick receiver and the top wide receiver in the 2025 class. He caught 71 receptions for Duncanville High School as a junior, totaling 1,532 yards and 18 touchdowns. Moore, who also competes for Duncanville in track, finished fifth in the state that season with a long jump of 23-7.5 and a junior 100-meter time of 10.40.
Wilson, Dallas
WR | Tampa, Florida | 6-3, 195
Wilson, the third-ranked wide receiver in the 2025 class, committed to Oregon despite late pressure from Miami and Florida. Wilson, who has been a member of the Ducks since January 17, 2023, is a lankier player with big hands. In his final season at Tampa Bay Tech, he caught 41 passes for 677 yards and nine touchdowns, according to MaxPreps.
Cooper Perry
WR | Scottsdale, Arizona | 6-1, 185
According to 247Sports composite rankings, Perry is the second-best wide receiver in Arizona and the 18th-best wide out nationwide. He is an elusive wideout with exceptional post-catch abilities. Perry is a talented lacrosse player as well, so if he has free time in between football games, he might play for Oregon’s club lacrosse squad. The swift-footed Perry caught 194 passes for 2,997 yards and 49 touchdowns during his three years as a varsity starter for Notre Dame Prep football.
Ploog Vander
TE | Fullerton, California | 6-6, 223
Ploog, a recent acquisition from rival Washington, gives the Ducks size and quickness at tight end. In addition to being a successful pass-catcher on the football field, he was a two-time all-league basketball player for Troy High School. During his final year, Ploog caught 75 passes for 1,148 yards and 17 touchdowns.
