Hillsboro man sentenced to 8 years in prison after domestic violence, sexual abuse conviction

According to the Washington County District Attorney’s Office, a Hillsboro man was found guilty of domestic abuse and sex offenses and given a sentence of more than eight years in prison on November 25.

On November 22, a Washington County jury found 39-year-old David Keith Hilton guilty of third-degree sexual abuse and harassment and first-degree sodomy. All of the counts were deemed to be domestic violence by the jury.

According to officials, Judge Brandon Thompson also mandated that Hilton register as a sex offender following his sentencing.

According to court documents, Hilton raped the woman as she slept in March. Officials claim that after the victim called the police, Hilton admitted to the crimes to detectives.

He called the lady he assaulted several times from prison after police captured him, breaking a no-contact order. In one call, he instructed her to drop the accusations against him, according to officials.
