The bodies of two dogs that vanished with Susan Lane-Fournier, the 61-year-old woman who was discovered dead close to Welches, are thought to have been retrieved by deputies.
After her truck was discovered nearby, officials said that the disappearance of Lane-Fournier and the dogs on November 22 sparked a four-day hunt in Mount Hood National Forest.
After the recovery of Lane-Fournier’s body, her husband, Michel Fournier, 71, of Brightwood, was arrested on charges of second-degree murder. According to court records, Lane-Fournier recently filed for her husband’s divorce.
The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office reports that the two dead dogs were discovered on Saturday by the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office. For additional identification, the dogs were taken to the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office.
The cause of Lane-Fournier’s and the dogs’ deaths has not been made public by the authorities.
Anyone who saw Fournier in the days leading up to his wife’s disappearance or who is aware of his current whereabouts is being questioned by detectives.
