Portlanders benefit financially every year from the predictable sluggish season that occurs in the winter, which also makes it easier to plan an evening out because there are less options. Portland band the Dandy Warhols will honor the frontman’s 85th birthday with an anniversary gig at Crystal Ballroom as part of Ural Thomas and the Pain, marking the start of the winter concert season. The Moda Center is then rocked by Tyler the Creator, Erykah Badu’s arrival via the Biamp Portland Jazz Festival, and the New Orleans band Tank and the Bangas later in the season.
