Even though it was close, St. Paul defeated Oakland 28–20 at Cottage Grove High School on Saturday to win the OSAA Class 2A state championship.
The Buckaroos won the state championship their first year in Class 2A. Up until this year, St. Paul had been competing in Class 1A (8-player) and had already won six state titles.
