This fall, public college and university enrollment in Oregon increased by 3%, reflecting national growth. With almost 4.3% more students than the previous year, community colleges—which were severely impacted by the pandemic declines—had the biggest gain, while public institutions saw a 1.7% increase over 2023.
Ben Cannon, the director of the state’s Higher Education Coordinating Commission, said the enrollment figure was extremely positive.
