Trail Blazers hit with more bad injury news

On Tuesday, the Portland Trail Blazers announced some unfortunate injury news.

Donovan Clingan, a rookie center, has been diagnosed with a grade 2 MCL sprain, the team reported. In two weeks, he will have another evaluation.

Due to a knee injury sustained during Saturday’s victory against Houston, Clingan missed Monday night’s game against Memphis.

The centerThe NBA has included Robert Williams III in its concussion protocol. In the second quarter of Monday night’s defeat, Williams exited and never came back.

After completing the return-to-participation procedure, which consists of a number of actions intended to guarantee an athlete is symptom-free prior to returning to the court, he is out indefinitely.

Deandre Ayton missed seven games due to a right index finger injury, but Clingan and Williams performed admirably. The Blazers will be without their top three centers if he is unable to play in Wednesday’s game against Indiana.

Matisse Thybulle, a guard/forward who started the season with a knee ailment, sprained his right ankle while recovering. A grade 2 sprain was verified by an MRI. It is anticipated that he would miss three to six weeks.

The Blazers were missing Ayton, big Kris Murray (bruised sternum), and guard Scoot Henderson (back strain) on Monday.

In the second half, Jerami Grant (knee) exited the game and never came back. We don’t know his status for Wednesday.
