Prepare for the yearly Thanksgiving Day custom that does not include football, turkey, or floats and enormous balloons. After NBC’s broadcast of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, the National Dog Show returns for 2024 on Thursday, November 28, bringing with it the cutest Turkey Day treat.
The 2024 National Dog Show streams on Peacock and airs on NBC at noon on Thursday, November 28. The show is also available for streaming on Fubo, which provides a free trial.
According to NBC, the race for top dog status is in its 23rd year and attracts over 20 million viewers annually. The American Kennel Club has approved the event, which is organized by the Kennel Club of Philadelphia.
Approximately 2,000 dogs representing hundreds of breeds will compete for the Best in exhibition title at the 2024 exhibition.
John O. Hurley and David Frei will headline The National Dog Show once more.Including his years hosting the Westminster Kennel Club dog show, the 2024 event will be Frei’s 50th time hosting a major televised dog show.
In addition to his knowledge of dogs, Frei has deep connections to the Pacific Northwest because he was raised in Eugene, where his father, Jerry Frei, was the head football coach of the University of Oregon from 1967 to 1971.
In 2022, Frei discussed living in Seattle in an interview with The Oregonian/OregonLive. He said, “I’ve got more Oregon Duck clothes than anything else, and I’m a Northwest guy forever.”
