Final 2 Portland City Council candidates win election

The near-final results, which were made public on Wednesday, make it evident who the twelve members of Portland’s first multi-winner ranked choice City Council will be, more than two weeks after the election.

Former City Hall employee and American Cancer Society local director of advocacy Jamie Dunphy defeated public safety advocate and businessman Terrence Hayes to win the third and last council seat in District 1 in east Portland.

According to an analysis by The Oregonian/OregonLive, Eric Zimmerman, a high-ranking Multnomah County official, defeated Portland bike officer Eli Arnold in District 4, which includes the entire west side of the city as well as the Eastmoreland and Sellwood areas in Southeast Portland.

District 4, which includes the entire west side and a portion of Southeast Portland, will be represented by three members of the Portland City Council, including Eric Zimmerman, a senior Multnomah County official.Campaign image
