Community Seeks Justice for Beloved Lawndale Great-Grandmother Killed in Chicago Shooting

Faith and community leaders in Chicago are demanding justice after the tragic death of Ondrea Monique King, a 58-year-old great-grandmother who was shot and killed last weekend on the city’s Southwest Side.

Known for her vibrant personality and love for her family, King was a devoted Chicago Bears fan who had hoped to celebrate the team’s win. Instead, her family is mourning her loss, devastated by what they describe as a “senseless” act of violence.

King was attending a gathering in Little Village when gunshots were fired from an alley. One of the bullets struck her in the neck, killing her.

Her family, particularly her brother who was standing nearby, is heartbroken by the loss of someone they describe as a loving and faithful woman.

Faith leaders have united to offer a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest. For more information on this heartbreaking story, visit ABC7 Chicago.
