Three Injured in Late-Night Shooting During Gresham Gathering

23-Year-Old Critically Wounded in Back of the Yards Shooting

A late-night gathering near Gresham turned violent on Thursday, leaving three people injured after an argument escalated into gunfire.

The incident occurred just after 10 p.m. in the 500 block of West Winneconna Parkway, where two men and a woman were standing outside when shots were fired by another man involved in the dispute.

The victims, a 31-year-old woman and two men, aged 34 and 40, were struck by the gunfire. Emergency responders quickly transported two of the victims to the University of Chicago Medical Center, while the third was taken to Christ Hospital. Fortunately, all three are expected to recover from their physical injuries.

The shooter fled the scene in a black SUV and remains at large. As of now, no arrests have been made, and police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

This incident highlights the ongoing challenges of gun violence in Chicago, where arguments can tragically escalate into life-threatening situations.

Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward to help bring the shooter to justice.
