The Big Ten honored Emma Cox of Oregon for her performance in the first weekend of the season.
Cox was selected the Big Ten freshman of the week after hitting.500 with two doubles, two home runs, and six RBIs in five victories for the No. 23 Ducks.
In the new league affiliation, she is the first Oregon player to receive recognition.
This weekend, Oregon will play six games in the Littlewood Classic, starting on Thursday in Tempe against Arizona State.
