Microchip expects intermittent furloughs for Gresham factory workers throughout 2025

As it battles a protracted decline in sales, semiconductor manufacturer Microchip Technology intends to occasionally place employees on unpaid leave at its Gresham plant through the remainder of 2025.

In March of last year, the Arizona-based corporation started implementing sporadic furloughs. The corporation informed employees in a January statement that the practice will likely continue throughout the year, including this spring. The exact amount of time that employees will have to take off was not specified.
