Mormon church accused of failing to report child sex abuse in OR and WA; faces $25M suit

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is being sued by a woman who claims that a bishop from the Vancouver branch they attended knew about the abuse but chose not to notify the police or child welfare authorities. The woman was sexually molested as a teenager by her adoptive father.

The suit claims that after the adopted parents divorced and the father, Craig McNeil Ford, took the girl to live with him in Oregon, the youngster endured several months of abuse.
