More than 500 eggs stolen from Seattle cafe

On Wednesday morning, around 500 eggs were taken from a bistro close to Seattle.

According to Seattle police, the robbers struck the Luna Park Cafe on Southwest Avalon Way in West Seattle at approximately 4:42 a.m.

According to authorities, security video shows two males breaking into the restaurant’s refrigerator and taking roughly 540 eggs, some bacon, ground beef, and liquid egg products. $387 worth of eggs were among the approximately $780 worth of stolen products.

The robbers fled after loading the breakfast items into a van. Later, they came again, but as soon as they saw an employee, they departed, according to the police.

The theft occurs as egg prices in the United States skyrocket. With the U.S. Department of Agriculture projecting a 20% price increase in 2025, the majority of Americans are currently spending $4 or more per dozen. The average price of eggs in 2022 was $2 per dozen.

This is also not the first instance of egg theft. One hundred thousand eggs were taken from a truck in Pennsylvania last week.

The theft in West Seattle is being looked into by Seattle police.
