Nurses at 7 Providence hospitals in Oregon reject proposed contracts, will continue strike

On Thursday, nurses at seven Providence hospitals in Oregon decided to prolong their strike, which is currently in its fifth week, after overwhelmingly rejecting proposed labor contracts.

The plan was turned down by nurses at Milwaukie, Hood River Seaside, Newberg, Providence Portland Medical Center, St. Vincent Medical Center, and Providence Willamette Falls in Oregon City. At Providence’s Medford Hospital, striking nurses are voting until 4 p.m. on Saturday.
