One of the finalists for the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Center of the Year award is Oregon’s Nate Bittle.
The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame announced ten players as potential recipients of the award on Friday, including the junior in the Ducks’ fourth year.
With a career-high 50.9% shooting percentage, three double-doubles, and three 20-point performances, Bittle leads Oregon with 12.7 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks per game. With 99 blocks in his career, he is sixth all-time in program history and second in the Big Ten in blocks per game.
Five finalists will be selected from the pool of applicants in March.
Since 2015, the award has never been given to a player from Oregon. Zach Edey of Purdue won it the previous season.
