Portland to join San Francisco, other sanctuary cities in suing Trump administration

A collection of local governments, including the city of Portland, intend to sue the Trump administration on Friday to overturn the executive order that targets sanctuary cities.

The action is a reaction to actions taken by President Donald Trump and his administration against municipalities and communities who cooperate with federal immigration enforcement. The lawsuit will contest a recent executive order issued by Trump that aims to prevent sanctuary cities and jurisdictions from receiving federal funding.
