Prior to Thursday’s NBA trade deadline, the Phoenix Suns dealt center Jusuf Nurkic to the Charlotte Hornets.
Before the 2023–24 season, the former Trail Blazers center was traded to Phoenix, which also brought Deandre Ayton and Toumani Camara to Portland.
Nurkic and a 2026 first-round pick were given to the Hornets. Cody Martin, Vasilije Mici, and a 2026 second-round selection were acquired by the Suns.
Recently, Nurkic lost favor with the Suns. Nurkic had 25 appearances with 23 starts before being completely cut from the lineup in January.
He shot 45.4% from the field and averaged 8.6 points and 9.2 rebounds.
Nurkic averaged 10.9 points and 11.0 rebounds while starting 76 games and shooting 51% from the field in his debut season with the Suns.
From the conclusion of the 2016–17 season to the 2022–23 campaign, Nurkic was a player for Portland.
