This Monday, the drag venue’s Facebook page revealed the new owner of Darcelle XV’s Showplace, whose identity had been kept secret since the club’s sale was announced two months ago.
It’s Jeremy Corvus-Peck, a veteran of the United States Air Force, entrepreneur, and seasoned drag performer.
In addition to his thirty-year drag career, Jeremey has decades of business knowledge, the venue announced on Facebook. The present cast and crew are eagerly awaiting his goal of honoring the club’s past while advancing us with originality and innovation. He wants to pay tribute to Darcelle XV’s legacy because they have been friends for a long time.
Since Walter Cole passed away in 2023 at the age of 92, the offspring of Cole, popularly known as Darcelle XV, have owned the 58-year-old club.
Cole transformed the dilapidated Demas Tavern on Northwest Third Avenue in Old Town into a legendary drag venue in 1967, hosting bachelorette parties and entertaining generations of tourists. 2020 saw the club’s inclusion on the National Register of Historic Places.
However, Cole’s kids said that the facility was in risk of closing last year.
A few months later, a sale that would sustain the club was revealed on its Facebook page.
Corvus-Peck is president of PenguinData Workforce Management Inc., a business management software provider, according to his LinkedIn profile. He, his spouse, and their two kids reside in Aloha.
