Portland police ID man barricaded in 10-hour standoff in St. Johns

The guy who allegedly barricaded himself from police in a North Portland home during a 10-hour standoff on Wednesday has been identified by the police.

Adam Klinko, 34, of Portland, was arrested at the Multnomah County Detention Center on active Washington warrants.

Police showed up on the scene.Klinko ran into a neighbor’s backyard and then inside his house in the St. Johns neighborhood’s 8300 block of North Hudson Street on Wednesday morning, according to the police.

Police stated in a news release that there was cause to believe the suspect had access to firearms and that he had previously been known to be equipped with them.

According to authorities, officers located Klinko inside the residence using a robot, drones, and cameras. They then engaged in text-messaging negotiations with him. Police poured irritant gas into the attic of the house following hours of trying to negotiate. Then, shortly after 6 p.m., Klinko turned himself in and was taken into custody.
