Portland politician skewers Oregon Democrat Janelle Bynum over Laken Riley Act vote

When Oregon U.S. Representative Janelle Bynum was one of several dozen House Democrats last week to support a Republican-sponsored bill that targeted undocumented immigrants accused of specific crimes, a Portland City Councilor on Wednesday unleashed a barrage of anger and invective at her.

In a video posted on her social media accounts, Angelita Morillo referred to Bynum’s support of the Laken Riley Act as a complete betrayal of democratic values, pointing out that Bynum was the only Democrat in the Oregon House or Senate to back the legislation.
