The body of a Portland man who vanished while hiking on Mount Hood was found by search and rescue crews on Monday.
The 38-year-old Robert Tveite was scheduled to return later that afternoon after embarking on the Cooper Spur Trail on Saturday. According to an announcement from the Hood River County Sheriff’s Office, his family notified authorities that he was past due after he did not return by noon on Sunday.
