The NBA announced today that 21 players, including guard Scoot Henderson of the Portland Trail Blazers, would compete in the 2025 Castrol Rising Starson on February 14 at Chase Center in San Francisco, California.
Ten second-year players, eleven rookies, and seven G League players make up the pool.
Donovan Clingan, a rookie center for the Blazers, was left out of the pool. The Rip City Remix’s Bryce McGowens was added to the G League roster.
During All-Star weekend, the G League squad and the 21 NBA players will compete in a tournament after being split up into three seven-player teams.
The draft is scheduled for February 4.
In Game 1, Team A faces Team B, and in Game 2, Team C faces Team D. The championship game pits the two victorious teams against one another.
This season, Henderson, who was selected third overall in the 2023 NBA draft, is averaging 12.4 points, 5.1 assists, and 2.9 rebounds.
Over the last eight games, he has displayed some of his greatest basketball, shooting 52.2% from the field and 47.9% from outside the arc while averaging 17.9 points and 5.8 assists.
