Update: Eastern Curry County and Josephine County and Jackson County under an air stagnation advisory until Thursday midday

At 8:57 p.m. on Monday, the National Weather Service issued a revised air stagnation advisory for Eastern Curry County, Josephine County, and Jackson County that would remain in force until Thursday at noon.

The air quality will remain poor, according to the weather agency. An inversion and stagnant air near the surface are to blame for this, as they will continue to trap pollutants.

“Those who have respiratory disorders may experience complications as a result of poor air quality. Exposure of unprotected skin to these temperatures will result in hypothermia and frostbite. According to the weather service, prolonged exposure to such low temperatures can result in hypothermia. “As much as possible, keep pets inside. Check on elderly neighbors, family, and friends on a regular basis. Make sure you utilize portable heaters properly. Grills and generators should not be used indoors. Be careful when you’re outside. Put on gloves, a hat, and clothes that are acceptable. When it comes to handling high levels of air pollution during periods of stagnant air, people with respiratory illnesses should heed their doctors’ instructions.
