Air stagnation advisory for S. Oregon until Thursday midday

The National Weather Service issued an air stagnation advisory for Central Douglas County, Eastern Curry County, Josephine County, and Jackson County on Monday at 1:02 a.m., and it will remain in force until Thursday at noon.

According to the weather service, “A strong inversion and stagnant air conditions near the surface will trap pollutants possibly leading to poor air quality.”

“Those who have respiratory disorders may experience complications as a result of poor air quality. According to the weather service, exposing exposed skin to these temperatures will result in frostbite and hypothermia. “When it comes to dealing with high levels of air pollution during periods of stagnant air, people with respiratory illnesses should heed their doctors’ recommendations. As much as possible, keep pets inside.
