At 1:02 p.m. on Saturday, the National Weather Service issued an updated wind advisory for the Klamath Basin, Northern and Eastern Klamath County, Western Lake County, and Central and Eastern Lake County. The advisory was in force until 7 a.m. on Sunday.
According to the meteorological service, “Northeast winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph expected.”
“Prolonged exposure to wind chill values can result in hypothermia. Unsecured objects will be blown around by gusty gusts. According to the weather service, there may be a few power outages and tree branches that are blown down. “As much as possible, keep pets inside. Be careful when you’re outside. Put on gloves, a hat, and clothes that are acceptable. Driving in such severe winds can be challenging, particularly for cars with a prominent profile. Be especially careful.
