Update: Wind advisory issued for Oregon for Saturday and Sunday

At 12:11 p.m. on Friday, the National Weather Service issued an updated wind advisory for the Klamath Basin, Northern and Eastern Klamath County, Western Lake County, and Central and Eastern Lake County. The advisory was in effect from Saturday at 4 a.m. to Sunday at 7 a.m.

According to the meteorological service, “Northeast winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph expected.”

“With extended exposure, wind chill and extremely low temperatures can cause hypothermia. Unsecured objects will be blown around by gusty gusts. According to the weather service, there may be a few power outages and tree branches that are blown down. Strong winds like these can make driving challenging, particularly for well-known cars. Be especially careful. Pets should be kept indoors whenever feasible. Be careful when you’re outside. Put on gloves, a hat, and suitable attire.
