According to authorities, a driver died early on Wednesday morning after colliding with a house in a Tigard area.
At approximately 12:40 a.m., the victim, operating a Subaru, collided with a residence on Southwest Gaarde Street, close to 121st Avenue, according to Tigard police.
According to officials, the driver, who was the only person in the vehicle, was discovered deceased at the scene by responding officers. No one else was hurt, and the house was empty when the collision occurred.
The victim’s name has not yet been made public by authorities.
According to Tigard police, speed was a contributing factor in the collision.
Less than twenty-four hours had passed since another tragic car accident in the Portland metro area when the Tigard tragedy occurred. According to Oregon State Police, Sandy resident Mark Loren McVicker, 64, was involved in the prior incident when he went off Highway 224 close to milepost 12 in Clackamas County on Tuesday morning. After colliding with a tree, the vehicle fell down an embankment. At the scene, McVicker was pronounced deceased.
