This spring, Portland will welcome a new pre-professional soccer team called the Portland Pickles.
The soccer squad will compete in USL League Two, which already has eight other teams spread throughout the Northwest and more than 100 teams nationwide, according to the Pickles, a collegiate wood-bat baseball team.
According to the Pickles, information regarding the new soccer team’s name, emblem, and stadium will be revealed early next month. Play is scheduled to start in May. On USL2PDX.com, fans can sign up for a waiting list for a six-game season ticket package.
We can’t wait to welcome a USL2 franchise to Portland. Alan Miller, the owner of Pickles, stated in a statement. This level’s ascent is comparable to the explosion of collegiate baseball in the Pacific Northwest. We are eager to infuse the soccer world with Pickle vibes.
Lane United FC of Eugene, United PDX of Portland, and Capital FC Athletico of Salem are also USL2 competitors.
At least 20 new teams have been announced by the league in advance of the 2025 campaign.
