Update: Air stagnation advisory affecting Oregon until Friday midday

In the Klamath Basin, Central Douglas County, Eastern Curry County, Josephine County, Eastern Douglas County Foothills, Jackson County, Northern and Eastern Klamath County, Western Lake County, Central and Eastern Lake County, and South Central Oregon Coast, the National Weather Service issued an updated air stagnation advisory at 12:11 a.m. on Tuesday that will remain in effect until Friday at noon.

“A strong inversion and stagnant air conditions near the surface will continue to trap pollutants,” the weather agency warns.

“Stagnate air conditions may lead to worsening air quality, which in turn may cause issues for people with respiratory problems,” states the weather agency. “Persons with respiratory illness should follow their physicians advice for dealing with high levels of air pollution during periods of stagnant air.”

United Robots offers a service called Advance Local Weather Alerts that gathers the most recent information from the National Weather Service using machine learning.
