According to officials, a fire at the Cascade Woods apartment complex in Aloha on Saturday killed one individual and forced other families to evacuate.
Around 2:30 on Saturday, Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue personnel arrived at the complex on Southwest Mapleoak Lane and discovered a first-floor apartment engulfed in flames. According to a news release from the agency, the second and third storey balconies were also ablaze.
Firefighters extinguished the fire and looked for occupants in the apartments. According to officials on Saturday, the fire claimed the life of 64-year-old resident of the first-floor apartment, Robin Wilkinson.
According to officials, the American Red Cross was assisting five additional families who had been displaced by the fire. According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, detectives are looking into what caused the fire.
