Robert Pamplin Jr. and the Pamplin Corp. have acknowledged that they settled a lawsuit filed by the federal government and participated in many transactions that they knew violated pension requirements. According to the lawsuit, pensioners’ retirement funds were put at risk due to years of pension fund misuse.
The U.S. Department of Labor filed the lawsuit, alleging that Pamplin and Pamplin Corp. violated pension requirements in almost a hundred transactions over six years involving over 25 pieces of real estate.
