Former Oregon Ducks star Haloti Ngata named to College Football Hall of Fame

An iconic Oregon Ducks defensive tackle is on his way to being inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.

The National Football Foundation said Wednesday that Haloti Ngata is one of 22 players in the 2025 CFB Hall of Fame Class.

According to a press statement from Oregon athletic director Rob Mullens, Haloti Ngata’s induction into the College Football Hall of Fame is a just reward for his enormous influence on college football and the University of Oregon football program. Haloti was a leader in the locker room, a powerful force on the field, and an inspiration to everyone during his tenure here.

A five-time Pro Bowler and one of the most successful NFL players in Oregon history, he is a remarkable person who has always represented Oregon with distinction. He exemplifies what it means to be an all-American. We are honored to recognize Haloti, his amazing accomplishments, and his status as a true Duck legend.

Ngata recorded 151 total stops, 24.5 for loss, 10 sacks, three forced fumbles, and seven blocked kicks in his 35 games with the Ducks. In 2005, he was voted a consensus first-team All-American, earned the Morris Trophy, and was named the Pac-10 defensive player of the year.

Ngata, who was selected by the Baltimore Ravens with the 12th overall pick in 2006, played in the NFL for 13 seasons, including a 2013 Super Bowl with the Ravens and five Pro Bowl appearances. He was selected to the first team All-Pro twice and the second-team All-Pro three times while playing for the Detroit Lions and Philadelphia Eagles. The Ravens have him in their ring of honor.

On December 9, 2025, the Bellagio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas will host the induction of the 2025 College Football Hall of Fame Class.
