Kotek bill would expand where duplexes, triplexes could be built

Governor Tina Kotek is requesting that Oregon lawmakers broaden the scope of where and how middle-class housing, such duplexes and triplexes, can be built.

The goal of House Bill 2138 is to expand on one of Kotek’s significant legislative achievements during her time as speaker of the Oregon House, which was supporting a bill in 2019 that permitted middle-class housing in previously single-family home zones.
