Police in Battle Ground are searching for a driver they believe struck a woman on Saturday and left her laying on the side of the road.
According to a news release from Battle Ground police, a woman was found laying on the side of the road close to the 3300 block of West Main Street when a bystander called police at around 9 a.m. on Saturday. According to officers, the unconscious woman was rushed to the hospital in critical condition after suffering severe injuries.
Police believe the woman was struck by a motorist who ran away from the scene while she was heading west. According to the news release, they are looking through local businesses’ and houses’ camera footage to help identify the motorist.
Police at Battle Ground are requesting that anyone with information regarding the incident call 311.
