Portland police will continue targeted missions, be more proactive in spotting crime hotspots in 2025, per report

According to a document outlining the Portland Police department’s strategy for 2025, the department plans to pursue missions that target specific offenses and take a more proactive approach.

Police Chief Bob Day wrote that the agency will stick to last year’s approach of conducting missions that concentrate on particular areas, crime categories, or communities in a 23-page report that was made public on Thursday. According to him, officers would perform a large portion of the work during overtime hours because the bureau is having trouble filling positions.
