The National Weather Service issued a revised air stagnation advisory for Central Douglas County, Eastern Curry County, Josephine County, and Jackson County at 6:35 a.m. on Friday. The advisory was in force until 10 a.m.
“Weak winds, poor mixing, and poor ventilation will result from strong valley inversions,” the meteorological agency continues. The air will become stagnant as a result, trapping pollutants close to the surface. With the arrival of greater cloud cover, the pervasive, dense fog has dissipated. Through 10 a.m., isolated, locally intense fog is possible.
According to the weather service, “people with respiratory problems may experience problems due to poor air quality.” “Persons with respiratory illness should follow their physicians advice for dealing with high levels of air pollution during periods of stagnant air.”
United Robots offers a service called Advance Local Weather Alerts that gathers the most recent information from the National Weather Service using machine learning.
