Multnomah County identifies potential location for permanent sobering and deflection center for drug users

Officials said Thursday that Multnomah County has found a possible permanent site for a 24-hour sobering and diversion facility designed to steer drug users toward addiction treatment and keep them out of jail. It would be Portland’s first drop-off location of its kind since 2019.
