Portland sees a sunny, mild Thursday before rain returns Friday

With around four days without rain, Portland has had a successful run.

However, everything good has to end. Before the rain returns on Friday, Portland will get one more mostly sunny day on Thursday, with highs of around fifty degrees.

According to the National Weather Service, fog has formed in the Tualatin Valley and other major cities. Lane County has also continuously experienced severe fog, with visibility as low as a quarter mile.

Thursday will see sunny skies with highs in the mid 40s to low 50s in most metropolitan areas once any fog has cleared.

Most of western Oregon may see light rain on Friday as a fast-moving front enters the area. Although there won’t be much precipitation, Portland will receive rain for the majority of the day. The temperature will peak at roughly 49 degrees.

According to the weather service, the lowlands should see 0.15 to 0.30 inches of rain, while the coast should see 0.45 to 0.75 inches.

At pass levels, the Cascades will receive one to three inches of snow.

There won’t be much rain predicted, but there will be light post-frontal showers over the weekend.

Rain is 30% likely to fall in Portland on Saturday morning. The high temperature will rise to roughly 46 degrees, and the skies will continue to be largely overcast.

There is a danger of another shower on Sunday morning, but it will clear up and turn partly sunny by the afternoon. The temperature will peak at roughly 47 degrees.

According to extended predictions, a second ridge of high pressure is expected to move into the area early next week, bringing with it another batch of bright days but significantly lower temperatures and the possibility of overnight frost.

Visibilities of one quarter mile or less have been reported in freezing temperatures, prompting the issuance of a Freezing Fog Advisory for Central and North-Central Oregon through 11 AM. If you are traveling through these places this morning, proceed with caution.yVCgKd7R35 #orwxpic.twitter.com
