DOJ lawyer critical of delay, scope of investigations into Portland police supervisors who mismanaged force used in 2020 protests

A U.S. Department of Justice attorney told a judge on Tuesday that investigations into Portland police supervisors who oversaw officers’ inappropriate use of force during the city’s 2020 protests have been ongoing for far too long and haven’t been as thorough as they ought to be.

Attorney R. Jonas Geissler stated in federal court in Portland that it seems the city has not named everyone who ought to have been the subject of an investigation.
